What Size Are Your Containers?

Our 20 ft shipping containers are clean, waterproof and multiple vented to help avoid the risk of damp.

How Do I Book A Container?

Be it just one shipping container, or multiples… bookings can be arranged using our booking form, or calling 01223 624264 - or send as much information as possible to info@selectedselfstorage.co.uk.

Can I Use My Own Padlock?

We offer both options. If you did require one of our padlocks, rest assured these are industry leading and fit within the security tamper proof lock box.

What Can I Store In My Container?

It’s always a good idea to give us a general idea of the planned storage so we can help advise if it breaches our terms and conditions, however you can generally store most household and business items, documents, or if working within a trade, your various tools

What Can’t I Store In My Container?

To safeguard our containers and your belongings, we have a variety of items strictly prohibited including the following materials: 

  • Explosives and / or flammables. 

  • Plants or perishable goods. 

  • Ammunition.

  • Chemicals. 

  • Animals. 

  • Drugs or illegal substances. 

  • Anything that is likely to leak oil or stain/damage the container. 

  • Wet items (If storing anything which has used water such as a freezer or washing machine… please defrost / drain and be certain they are dry before entry). 

  • Any form of waste whether hazardous, infectious or just household.

Am I Committed Long Term?

Not at all. We offer a variety of rental terms, with your payments set up the day your term commences. Should you be thinking of a short term rental, but there is uncertainty, it might be worth considering a longer term deal to help bring the costs down.

Will My Belongings Be Insured?

Insurance is optional and not included unless requested. Please check with your home insurance to see if you have the correct coverage or if you need additional.

We will require proof of your own insurance cover upon signing your rental agreement. We will then not accept any liability for the content stored through the duration of the rental agreement.

If you would like to use our insurance, this would need to be agreed and accepted ahead of the move into your storage. Our insurance options are additional to the rental charge.

Do I Have to Sign A Lease?

During the booking process, you will be able to read our full terms and conditions, accepting them by using the check box. This will then become fully binding with your complete consent to abide by all stated Terms and Conditions. Should you wish to view these, please click here.

Do You Take A Deposit?

Deposits are required to secure your unit but fully refundable. Once you leave your unit, we will carry out an inspection to ensure the container is in the same condition as when you moved in, any extras such as our padlocks and blankets are returned clean and in working condition. Upon an approved inspection, the deposit will be returned to you via your payment card. 

What Should I Do When I’m Ready to Leave?

When the time comes that you need to close your storage account, simply log into your booking portal and cancel your term - if you have any difficulties, we can of course help, so give us a call. Once your term is cancelled, any final closing balance can be arranged and details of our exit procedure sent.
